STAN VITIKAS: 17 YEAR SURVIVOR

Pancreatic cancer remains the deadliest of all major cancers, now the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. In 2001, the five-year survival rate was just 5%. Today, it has climbed to 13%. While still far too low, progress is real, the needle is moving thanks to the collective support and generosity of people like you.

Through initiatives like the TGen Triple and the Grand Slam for Life, we’ve helped accelerate advancements that are changing the gold standard of care for patients worldwide. I have been blessed, through the good fortune of early detection, great health insurance, and access to world class surgeons and countless endoscopic procedures that gave me a fighting chance. But most patients aren’t as fortunate. Surviving this disease is an unending battle, and none of the treatments that saved my life would exist without medical research and funding. I was blessed, and I must pay it back to help others survive. If not Me, then Who?

That’s why I continue to stand with the Seena Magowitz Foundation, an organization that has raised millions to fund groundbreaking clinical trials and lifesaving research. Your support fuels the work of brilliant doctors and surgeons, including Dr. Erkut Borazanci, Dr. Daniel Von Hoff, and world-renowned surgeon Dr. Douglas B. Evans, Chair of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. These pioneers are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible — including recent efforts to reengineer a patient’s immune system (T cells) to help them better detect and destroy cancer cells. This is the future of cancer care.

A PERSONAL MATCH

Raising money is hard, it requires the support of many, asking friends to make a sacrifice so I will match the first $15,000 in donations. At 13% survival, we must continue to strive. My goal is to raise $60k, through this link and various corporate matches.

Together, we can help extend lives and offer hope to those who need it most. The doctors and researchers we support are making tangible progress against late-stage disease, but they need us behind them. Thank you in advance for your generosity and belief in this cause.

With gratitude,
Stan

In-Person Pancreatic Cancer Conference Invite

In 2024, we brought together 80 pancreatic cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers at American Family Field, home of the Brewers in Milwaukee. This year, our goal is even greater: to welcome 125 patients and survivors to Milwaukee on August 1–3, 2025.

We’ll host a robust In-Person Pancreatic Cancer Conference, featuring three roundtable sessions across the weekend that bring together patients, caregivers, nurse navigators, and top clinicians from around the country and beyond. In parallel, Dr. Evans and the MCW team will lead a Pancreatic Cancer Medical Symposium for healthcare professionals dedicated to improving patient outcomes.

And of course, we’ll gather again for the signature Dinner on the Diamond at American Family Field — a night of hope, celebration, and remembrance. If you’d like to join us, please visit: www.seenamagowitzfoundation.org/milwaukee.
